Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Banaras, is one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities. Situated in northern India, its location along the river Ganga is not just geographical but symbolic, symbolizing the spiritual heart of the country. Varanasi's history is intertwined with legends, mythology, and the evolution of diverse cultural practices.

Exploring the alleys

Wandering through Varanasi's narrow alleys, known as 'galis,' is an exploration of its living history. The buzzing markets, the age-old houses adorned with intricate wooden carvings, and the aroma of local street food create an immersive experience, allowing visitors to connect with the pulse of the city.

Workshop details​

​

This workshop is open for registrations in two categories: 

 

• A one-to-one workshop that can be tailored to your needs and what areas you would like to work on to best improve your photography

• A group workshop limited to a group of 3 people where I will work with you personally on how to best improve your photography

 

This workshop is aimed at those keen in street photography and willing to put in those hours of walking. I will help you learn the use of light and shadows and improve your composition to capture everyday moments and life on the streets/lanes and ghats. Learn the art of seeing in black and white, ignoring the color of the real world, and focusing on the shapes, lines, and textures. We will also have an intensive session on post-processing the images shot during the tour.

 

Pre-requisites

 

All experience levels are welcome to take this workshop. You should have a good understanding of your camera as well as an understanding of basic image editing.
