Historical and ecological significance
Mangalajodi Bird Sanctuary, located on the northern edge of Chilika Lake in Odisha, India, is a haven for migratory and resident birds. Historically, the area was a hub for poaching, but community-driven conservation efforts transformed it into a birdwatcher's paradise. The sanctuary is ecologically significant for its wetlands, which support a diverse range of flora and fauna. Hosting thousands of migratory birds during winter, it plays a crucial role in preserving biodiversity. Its unique ecosystem highlights the importance of sustainable coexistence between humans and nature.

“Letting go of yourself is an essential precondition of real seeing”
- Freeman Patterson
What you will learn?
The one-to-one/group workshop is an unlearning and relearning process. Before making an image, it is very important to be aware of the surroundings and observe the subject, its shape, line, and texture. To achieve this, we will discuss the essentials of “learning to see, feel and think”. This will help you observe more accurately, develop your imagination, and express yourself more effectively. It then will give an amazing outcome of developing a perspective, which will help in crafting your own visual story.
Learning to see, feel, and think…
-
See - Learning to see, to know the tools, and to arrange elements.
-
Feel - Understanding the mood, style, story, and intention
-
Think - To open up and think deeply about symbols, metaphors, presentation, expression of ideas, and post-processing
We will also have an intensive session on post-processing the images shot during the workshop. From practical, hands-on sessions in the field to editing and reviewing the images created, this intensive workshop will provide insights into the creative process from start to finish.
