ಆ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು,
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಮಂದಿ,
ಹೇಳಿದ ಕಥೆಗಳು
ಒಂದಾ ಎರಡಾ?

ಅಲ್ಲಿ,
ನೂರಾರು ಜನರು,
ನೂರಾರು ತರಹೇವಾರಿ,
ತಿಂಡಿ ತಿನಿಸುಗಳು!

ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರೂ,
ಒಂದೊಂದು ಮುಖವಾಡ
ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು,

ಕೊಂಬು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು!

ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಬೆಳಕ ನಡುವಣ,
ಮಿಂಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜನ!
ನೋಡಿ ನಿಬ್ಬೆರಗಾದಂತೆ,
ಕೊಹಿಮಾದ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬಝಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ!

The streets of Kohima

Those streets,
And the people wandering there,
Stories they told—
Countless, endless!

There,
Hundreds of people,
A hundred flavors
Of snacks and delights!

Each one
Wearing a mask,
Locked in horns,
Carrying their worlds.

Amid silver light,
Glowing faces!
Left awestruck,
In the night bazaar of Kohima!
