ಆ ಬಕದ
ತೆರೆದ ಕೊಕ್ಕು,
ಹತ್ತಾರು ಕಥೆಯ
ಹೇಳಿತು..

ಕೊಕ್ಕ
ಸಂದಿಯಲಿ
ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಬಸವನ ಹುಳುವಿನ
ಕಥೆ!

ಒಡಾಡುತಾ
ಅದರ ಕೊಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಏಡಿ,
ಅದರದೊಂದು ಕಥೆ!

ಇದು ಕೇಳಿಸಿದರು,
ಕೇಳದಂತೆ
ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ
ಬಾಯ್ಕಳಕ ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆ,
ಅದರದೇ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಥೆ!

Openbill opulence

The openbill stork,

With its parted beak,

Told a hundred tales

So unique...

One was of the

Snail which was

stuck in between the gap

of its beak!

Wandering around,

Another tale unfolds—

Of a crab that was caught

by the beak so bold!

It didn’t stop,
It didn’t pause,
Unfazed by chatter,
It carried on its cause.

The openbill’s tale

Is the central saga!
