Essence beyond species
Across years of photographing birds, my attention gradually shifted away from identification towards encounter. Rather than recording species, these photographs explore form, gesture and presence, reducing each encounter to its essential relationships with light and space. As context gradually falls away, attention settles upon presence rather than identity, inviting the viewer to encounter each bird beyond its name.
