In the northern reaches of Kerala, Theyyam is a dance of devotion, where the mortal surrenders and the divine takes form. I witnessed performers become living vessels of gods, their bodies, colors, and movements echoing myths older than memory. Each moment unfolds as a meditation on the threshold between human and sacred, presence and transcendence, fire and stillness.

 

This project is an ongoing journey, and with every visit, I seek to explore the thresholds of identity, faith, and the sacred, tracing the ephemeral magic that makes Theyyam both spectacle and spiritual experience.
