Project: Kulasai dasara

At Kulasekarapattinam, the Kulasai dasara festival is a living ritual, where devotion becomes embodiment. Over my visits, I witnessed devotees transform into manifestations of Kali and Lalithambigai, their bodies and minds shaped by ritual, discipline, and faith.

For me, photographing this festival is more than capturing movement—it is about tracing the threshold between the mortal and the divine, the human and the sacred. Through these images, I explore transformation, surrender, and the sacred pulse of a culture where devotion is both a spectacle and a deeply personal journey.
