Project: Hornbill festival
Amidst fog and the aftermath of cyclonic rains, I visited the Hornbill festival in Kohima—a gathering of 16 tribes, each bringing their songs, dances, and stories to the morungs. The mist softened the festival’s edges, blending past and present, ritual and celebration. The festival unfolded as a living expression of community, heritage, and the enduring spirit of Nagaland’s tribes.
