ಹಾವಕ್ಕಿ....
ಕತ್ತಲು ಬೆಳಕಿನ ನಡುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ
ಚಿತ್ರಗಾರನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದ
ಈ ಹಕ್ಕಿಯ ನೀಳ ಕತ್ತು...
ಒಂದೊಂದು ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ, ಒಂದೊಂದು ದಿಕ್ಕು.
ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಬೆಳಕದು,
ಒಂದು ಸುತ್ತು ಬೆಳಕು ಕೊಕ್ಕಿನ ಮೇಲೆ,
ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸುತ್ತು ಕತ್ತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ,
ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪುಕ್ಕದ ಮೇಲೆ!
ಅದರ ಚೂಪಾದ ಕೊಕ್ಕು,
ತೀಕ್ಷ್ಣ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳವು
ಬಿದ್ದದ್ದು
ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿವೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ
ಈಜಿ ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ
ಮತ್ಸ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ!
The snake bird!
Like the snake,
The long neck of the bird,
Moved in the light and dark,
And it was captured,
Left an indelible mark.
The play of light,
Made its way,
Once on the neck,
And once on the beak,
Once on the feathers.
It was the charming bird,
Which took the center,
Everything around was bleak.
As the photographer waited to capture the darter,
The darter waited for its next catch.
